A summer of Remembering and Reckoning

2020 Brought global conversations to our shores in wave after wave

Against the backdrop of the global COVID-19 pandemic disproportionately devastating our communities, the murders of Black people in North America—Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd—sparked a new wave of uprisings around the world as Black people continued to fight for our lives on many fronts.

With other Black Hawai’i community organizations and individuals we gathered in the midst of the pain and outrage.
